I have been painting with watercolor for 30 years. I began painting, working with a mentor when I was 14. I studied painting at The Academy of Fine Art in Rome, completing the second year. My BFA is from the Academy of Art University.
I paint fulltime. Previously, working as an illustrator, I did a range of work from botanical illustration, to surface design, to paintings of mail order gardens for a horticulture corporation. |
My work in all of these genres has greatly informed the personal work I’m doing now.
I love animals. I’ve done cat rescue, in various forms, for many years. My most serious paintings are of feral cats. |
Another interest is working with children on neighborhood projects. The pictures below show two of these projects: a community children’s garden I founded and a mosaic, on the wall fronting the garden, at the end of our street.
I have enjoyed teaching many years as a part-time instructor at the Academy of Art University, teaching Illustration, Watercolor and Color Theory. Currently I am teaching Color Theory, one day a week.
